Lay-z-Spa | Product Feature Explainers
Role: Producer, Director, 2D Motion, VFX and Sound Design
The brief required a duo of slick 3D videos to showcase the functionality and structure of a built-in-pump feature for a spa. I teamed up with Ryan from Roogul, whom developed the 3D, while I directed the look and blocked out the edit to the brief’s specification.

process
Composition and framing was roughly blocked out using geometry in Blender, then screen-grabbed for use in storyboards and animatics.
Animatics were edited from a combination of screengrabs, test renders and provided assets. The animatic edits were updated in iterations, informing creative decisions without needing to render full-res. 2D graphics were developed during this process too.
Sample images and Look books were presented to the client, to develop the aesthetic and check the product was presented accurately. Once the look and the animatic edits were approved we rendered full-res clips and re-constructed the edits.
