Foreign Concept - Skit City | Music Video
Role: Director and Animator
Matt Price (aka Foreign Concept) and artist Jack Ramsay approached me with an idea to bring Jack’s ‘Skit City’ graphic novel to life for a music video. Jack’s iconic art is made up of humorous micro-scenes and rewards the observant with lots of funny details. The idea for the video was simply to explore scenarios around the city and have the population bobbing their heads in time to the music.

Storyboards and animatics were used for blocking out scene timing and camera movement.
The head bob was animated once for each direction (left, right and forward) and then linked to each character’s head rotation, across the video. This ensured the movements were consistent and could be adjusted once, but affect all instances. This saved a lot of time.
